Workstream Mission:

The start-up innovation workstream of the IoT Alliance is focused on helping IoT start-ups succeed. This is achieved by understanding, promoting and helping resolve the challenges faced by IoT start-ups, and the opportunities presented. This includes driving the IoT innovation agenda and bringing start-ups and industry players together to solve real and present issues faced in Australia today.

Workstream Goals:

7. Guest speakers - Jamie Flynn from Hone. Jamie has a background in medical research and deep technology development. From designing electrical interfaces with neurons to building advanced 3D medical microscopes, Jamie has always had a passion for creating and sharing new technologies. He co-founded Hone to apply his skills to the exciting area of in-field chemical testing in Agriculture and hopes to improve the data legacy passed onto the next generation of farmers and land custodians. Jamie will be talking about his startup journey with Hone, providing farmers with mobile IoT spectroscopes to test their crops in the field. He will share his learnings on hardware development in Australia, finding product-market fit, raising funds and re-branding from Rapid Phenotyping to Hone.
